CITYSCAPE

TRANSITIONAL SPACE

FASHION FILM

IN PLACE OF WORDS

Even in the densely crowded city it is difficult to escape the feeling that isolation prevails. The brief was to create a one-minute film including two or more languages. The use of different languages became a reflection of the disconnect in the urban core, emphasized by the deliberate lack of subtitles.

A short film visually expressing two forms of transitional space (a hotel and an airport) through an airhostess who experiences these modern spaces regularly and a glimpse of reality behind the assumed glamour.

Behind the scenes of a fashion shoot. The model appears vaccant, bored and melancholic as she repeats the same motion endlessly.

The characters in this piece share two spaces – one private, one public. Their behaviour changes from a comfortable silence at home to a more rigid, awkward display at the cemetery. We see two people aware of their own mortality but determined to grow old together regardless.

QUIET OF SUMMER

IN TRANSIT

From stillness, we see movement. Opposite a woman escapes a listless suburban setting and experiences a surreal sense of awakening.

A short film based on the moment one realizes their mortality. The main character remembers moments of his life as he journeys to an unknown destination.
